Health Services
Nurse:
The COA has a registered nurse on staff with prevention, monitoring and education the main focus. Many health-related services are available to elders free of charge, or for a minimal fee (donations are always accepted & appreciated).
Regular walk-in blood pressure clinics are held at the Center every Wednesdays from 9 AM to 11 AM.
Foot care (nail trimming) provided by a Certified Footcare Specialist is available the third Friday of each month for a nominal fee by appointment only contact Mary (978) 374-2390 X 3915
Screening for diabetes, anemia, cholesterol, vision and colon-rectal problems are periodically available. Additional health services which are available include:
- Fall flu immunization,
- Tetanus vaccines,
- Vitamin B-12 injections (at the request of a client's physician),
- health, nutrition, and prescription drug counseling; and
- health education programs, workshops, and promotions.
The COA works closely with area case managers, local VNA's and home health agencies, and other City Departments to ensure the safety of our senior residents.
Health Appliance Loaner Program:
Numerous donated health appliances are available on a free-loan basis. Contact the office to inquire if the item you need is available. (978) 374-2390 X 3915
FOOT CARE IS BACK!!Certified Foot Care Specialist, Marie Anderson, NP, will be available the 3rd Friday of each month beginning at 11am. You must have an appointment to be seen. Appointments may be made by calling nurse Mary at 978-374-2390 X 3915. There is a $45 fee for the service, payable with cash or check. At your first appointment a complete foot evaluation will be done. |
