The Haverhill Police Department is announcing temporary traffic and pedestrian impacts on
Main Street (Route 125) due to ongoing construction at the new parking deck.
Beginning Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and continuing through Friday, September 12,
2025, the right lane of Main Street between Bailey Boulevard and Merrimack Street will
be closed daily from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. to accommodate construction work.
Please be advised that, in the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances,
the contractor has notified the City that the work may continue through Wednesday September
17 th . However, the project as currently scheduled anticipates completion on September 12 th .
Traffic Impact: The affected lane will reopen each evening after 4:00 p.m. Police officers will
be on site during work hours to assist with traffic control.
Pedestrian Impact: Sidewalks in this section of Main Street will be closed for the duration
of the project. Pedestrians are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Motorists and Pedestrians: Please plan ahead, expect delays, and seek alternate routes
when possible.
