Haverhill Recreation is part of the Human Services Department for the City of Haverhill. One of our goals is to provide cost-effective community programs to Haverhill residents. If you are unable to afford an activity registration fee, please contact us. We are more than happy to try and accommodate any financial situation.

New Programs/Activities

The City of Haverhill Recreation Department is always open to hearing your new ideas for programs and activities within the City of Haverhill. We are always interested in offering new and exciting things in our community for both adults and youth. If you have a skill you would like to contribute, please contact Recreation Director Ben Delaware at 978-374-2388 x3938 or bdelaware@cityofhaverhill.com. You will be asked to present a completed activity proposal form before meeting with the Recreation Director.

Volunteer in an Existing Program

If you are interested in volunteering in an existing program as a coach or program leader but have not yet been approved, please refer to the contact information above and read the orange print below. If you have already been approved by the Recreation Department for a specific program and have not yet registered, please visit our Staff and Coaches Registration Page to enter your information, and we will contact you shortly.

***All of our volunteers must be able to pass a CORI check and be approved by the Haverhill Recreation Department. Every Volunteer in our activities goes through Concussion and Abuse training before beginning interaction with participants. Prospective Volunteers must participate in an introductory interview with the Recreation Director and adhere to all city policies relevant to the activity for which the candidate is interested in. Please refer to our Volunteer Waiver for full information***
