The second segment of this HC Media show recaps the December 13, 2014, public site event hosted by the Forest Management Committee at Winnekenni Castle. During the event, planning was discussed for selective timber harvesting in the Merrill Trail and Winnekenni Castle sections of the Winnekenni Park Conservation Area. The event began with a meeting in the Castle, where residents learned more about the planning for these sections of the park. Residents were able to engage in discussions with the City's forestry consultants and Committee members about these plans and the hemlock salvage project. The event then entered the woods, where residents were invited to review the new areas proposed for harvesting.
