Rules & Regulations for Hunting in Haverhill
Hunting and trapping are allowed in the City of Haverhill when in season and with license and in accordance with the state’s applicable laws. Our only local exceptions are as follows:
-
Hunting; trapping; and carrying firearms, bows and arrows, trapping gear, slingshots (arm rockets), or similar devices are prohibited at Winnekenni Park Conservation Area, Tattersall Farm, and John's Woods Conservation Area.
-
Hunting; trapping; and carrying firearms, bows and arrows, trapping gear, slingshots (arm rockets), or similar devices are prohibited at Meadow Brook Conservation Area, except during Massachusetts archery, shotgun, and primitive firearm deer seasons.
-
Hunting is prohibited along the Bradford Rail Trail
There are no further local restrictions on bow or shotgun hunting. As for our conservation areas, you’ll see above that there are a few prohibitions. However, there are no local prohibitions/restrictions on our Crystal Lake area properties or Wheeler Woods. And Meadow Brook, our land around Millvale Reservoir, is open during deer season.
Any violation to the above prohibited actions can be punishable by a fine, criminal complaint, arrest and confiscation of equipment used by the offender during the violation.
