Nomination Papers

*2025 Municipal Elections*

Nomination papers for the 2025 municipal elections will become available on Monday May 5th, 2025. The last day to pull papers is Friday July 18, 2025. Papers must be returned to the City Clerk's office no later than Tuesday July 22, 2025 for certification. A preliminary election will be held (if needed) on September 9th and a general election will be held on November 4th.

Candidates running for mayor or City Council at-large need to obtain at least 50 certified signatures from registered voters within the city of Haverhill.

Candidates running for ward City Council or School Committee need to obtain at least 25 certified signatures from registered voters within their ward. 

Nomination papers can be pulled for the following offices for the 2025 Municipal Election:

  • Mayor
  • City Council - At Large (4 seats)
  • City Council Wards - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7
  • School Committee - At Large (3 seats)
  • School Committee Wards - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7

*All above mentioned offices serve a two-year term.
